RESEARCH INTERN

  • Stipend: Competitive (as per policy)
  • We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Research Intern to assist with our project- Bharat Pravah, focused on the interconnected history, maritime practices, river systems, culture, blue economy and livelihoods of coastal communities.

Research and Analysis :

  • Research historical developments, maritime traditions, blue economy, and cultural practices of coastal communities.
  • Identify and collect relevant academic literature, policy documents, archival material, and oral histories.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments at national and international levels, providing updates and analysis to internal stakeholders.

Content Development:

  • Assist in preparing reports, case studies, and presentations on maritime livelihoods and cultural practices.
  • Contribute to publications such as blogs, research briefs, and newsletters.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with mentors, project leads, and cross disciplinary teams involved in research on governance, heritage, environmental sustainability.
  • Participate in internal brainstorming sessions to align research findings with project objectives.

General Requirements:

  • Graduate in History, Sociology, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Basic familiarity with qualitative research methods (knowledge of quantitative tools is a plus).
  • Interest in themes related to maritime history, river cultures, sustainable development, blue economy and coastal community resilience.

Internship might be converted into a full time opportunity, depending on the performance of the candidate
