We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Research Intern to assist with our project- Bharat Pravah, focused on the interconnected history, maritime practices, river systems, culture, blue economy and livelihoods of coastal communities.
Research and Analysis :
Research historical developments, maritime traditions, blue economy, and cultural practices of coastal communities.
Identify and collect relevant academic literature, policy documents, archival material, and oral histories.
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments at national and international levels, providing updates and analysis to internal stakeholders.
Content Development:
Assist in preparing reports, case studies, and presentations on maritime livelihoods and cultural practices.
Contribute to publications such as blogs, research briefs, and newsletters.
Collaboration:
Work closely with mentors, project leads, and cross disciplinary teams involved in research on governance, heritage, environmental sustainability.
Participate in internal brainstorming sessions to align research findings with project objectives.
General Requirements:
Graduate in History, Sociology, Development Studies, or a related field.
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
Basic familiarity with qualitative research methods (knowledge of quantitative tools is a plus).
Interest in themes related to maritime history, river cultures, sustainable development, blue economy and coastal community resilience.
Internship might be converted into a full time opportunity, depending on the performance of the candidate
