The Institute for Governance, Policies & Politics (IGPP) invites applications for the position of Tech Policy Researcher. The role will focus on the research areas of social dimensions of digital ecosystems and emerging technologies, including, digital governance, artificial intelligence, data protection, platform regulation, cybersecurity, emerging technologies, and their impact on society, economy, and democracy.
Research and Analysis:
1. Conduct research on emerging issues in technology governance including AI, data privacy, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, and online platforms.
2. Track national and international policy and regulatory developments, preparing briefs and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
3. Support the drafting of policy papers, reports, case studies, and presentations on digital governance and technology policy.
4. Review and synthesise academic literature, government reports, and industry publications.
5. Contribute to research dissemination through blogs, policy briefs, and thought pieces.
6. Assist senior researchers and project leads in developing frameworks and recommendations for tech policy and governance.

• Completed post-graduation in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, Law, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Familiarity with technology policy issues such as data governance, AI ethics, platform regulation, and digital rights.
• Ability to interpret and analyse policy documents, legislation and regulatory frameworks.
• Knowledge of research methods, academic referencing, and policy writing standards.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
